   KIRAKIC  ‘Let’s talk’ Meeting

Date: Thursday, February 9th
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Place: KIRA office 3rd floor
Fee: Free of charge
Contents: This winter has been very cold and people tend to stay at home when it’s cold outside.
     Why don’t you come to the KIRAKIC meeting?
     And let’s talk together and have an enjoyable time.
     Everyone is welcome! KIRAKIC members are welcome too!
     If you don’t know KIRAKIC, it’s all right. Just join us.
     We’ll enjoy a ‘hot’ time together.

      A SEMINAR on DADIATION for KIRA members

Date: Saturday, February 18th
Time: 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Doors open 2:00 p.m.)
Place: Keihoku Hall
    It’s a one minute walk from the east exit of Kashiwa Station.
    Please take the elevator, next to Keihoku supermarket (Niban-gai)
    Go up to 6th floor and you’ll find the hall.
    On the seminar day, the staff will assist you there.

Japanese Culture Committee

Date: Tuesday, February 21st
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Place: Chuo Kominkan (Kashiwa city Public Hall)
    4th floor, Crafts room No.1 (Jisshu-shitsu )
Fee: 100 yen
Capacity: 30 persons
      Please bring one plate with you.
Registration: Please call KIRA office by Monday, February 13th.
Contents: Let’s enjoy various food of the world and talking together.


   LECTURE ‘Growing Up In Canada’

Date: Saturday, February 25th
Time: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Place: KIRA office 3rd floor
Speakers: Ms. Michi Mayumi and Ms. Anne Takata
Contents: The two speakers were raised in Canada.
     So they will talk about their own experiences in Canada.
     You can learn some more details about Canada.
     They speak both in English and Japanese.
Fee: Free of charge Registration: Pease call KIRA office by Friday, February 24th.
       Because of the capacity of the room, there is a limitation on the number or participants.
       You may be placed on the waiting list once we reach capacity.


   Why don't you listen to Japanese Speeches by foreign residents?

Date: Sunday, March 4th
Time: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Doors open 1:00 p.m.)
Place: Chuo Kominkan (Kashiwa city Public Hall)
     5th floor, assembly room
Contents: Japanese class students will give their speeches in Japanese.Contents: Japanese class students will make their speeches in Japanese.

   Join the Welcome Party for the Guests from Camden, Australia.

This year is the 15th anniversary of the International Friendship Agreement
between Kashiwa and Camden. In commemoration of this, a Camden citizen
delegation will visit Kashiwa in spring.. We’ll have a welcome party.

Date: Saturday, March 31st
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. (Doors open 6:00 p.m.)
Place: Mitsui Garden Hotel
Fee: 6,000 yen.

Registration for translation and interpretation volunteers

We thank you very much for your sincere support of KIRA's activities and we appreciate your help in translating and interpreting your mother languages to Japanese and vice versa.

Since KIRA began building a foreign resident network two years ago, the number and importance of translation and interpretation projects has increased dramatically.

Get Your Free City Residents Manual Today

For those who are registered or about to be, City Hall would like to give you a manual (in several languages) on living in the city, a disaster prevention handbook, information on how to dispose of waste, and a complete set of brochures to make your life in Kashiwa easier. Get it at the Citizen Section of City Hall (building 2, 1st Floor).
